In 1873 Jules Verne wrote the novel “Around the World in 80 Days”. Ok, the XOVILICHTER competition didn’t quite go that far, but over the same period you still managed to rock the Google Index at Google.de, flooding it with your websites in a fantastic SEO contest full of twists and turns. We kept a daily eye on the rankings, as we’re sure did many of the participants! Saturday (19.07.2014) was therefore exactly 80 days since the start of the keyword challenge. 80 days battling tooth and nail for the top prizes. It was time to announce the winners.
The day kicked off at 17:30 with a small session on topics from the online marketing sector. In Dirk Pohlscheidt from mediata, media law expert Christian Solmecke and SEO and Social Adviser Felix Beilharz, we had acquired three speakers who provided cutting insight from their respective areas for the benefit of the 50 or so participants.
Then it was off to the party in Pe303! In the presence of around 250 guests, we announced the winners live at 19:30 and distributed the prizes. Customers, partners and friends of XOVI came to Cologne from all over Germany as well as Austria and Switzerland to celebrate with us. A fantastic chance to socialise with colleagues and renew older acquaintances with customers and partners. A great night was had by all! Winners who couldn’t make it on the night will of course be notified.
Congratulations first of all to Simon Schmid from Rankboost. In a dramatic turn of events, Simon, who only joined the race in July, overtook the leaders in the final hours before the announcement to claim first prize – a Smart fortwo. The keys were handed over in person by XOVI Managing Director, Maik Benske.
Second place went to Mario Porst from Online Marketing Solutions AG – an exciting trip for two to California. In third place, Nicolas Sacotte won a MacBook Air. Unfortunately, Nicolas couldn’t attend the party in person so our host for the evening Tobias Fox got him on the line there and then! Finally, congratulations to all our other winners listed below, and a massive thank you to everyone who took part.
Once again, we would also like to thank our partners and sponsors, without whom neither the challenge nor the party would have been possible.
